HISTORY Acantha was born in Oia into the loving family of an history teacher and an art teacher. Her father taught her the importance of past and roots, so she grew up surrounded by books and family story; her mother taught her the importance of being open-minded and seeing life from another perspective. As a kid she was also taught to cook and discovered her ability for baking. Her grandmother wanted for her to continue the family tradition of running their restaurant, and that was Acantha’s dream during her childhood until she decided to study at university and make a future for herself just like her father and mother did much the deception of the entire family, and mostly her deceased grandfather.
Though she is an only child she never lacked of kids to play, always surrounded by her cousins and other members of the family during their big feast on Sundays and other gatherings. She has a big noisy family in which tradition is important and so is food, the most important celebrations are always around a table. Acantha leads a very simple and relaxing life in the island but honoring personality she started to grow impatient and wanting more in her life, she started to go out, getting together with the wild kids and becoming one herself. You will think she doesn’t have problems leading this kind of life, but she does, with alcohol and losing control during parties because getting together with the wrong kind of people messed up her life a bit. Then she moved to Fira to start university and things only grew worst, when she realized she couldn’t stop.

ROLEPLAY SAMPLEWas complaining going to make it easier at the camp? No, so she was refraining for doing. At first she had been irritated beyond words, leaving her son behind wasn’t the dream of her life. Girls her age would love to charge their parents with their kids and would want to have as normal a life as possible but not her, she clearly understood it was her responsabilty and she was the one getting pregnant in the first place. Alessandra was stubborn, but she knew it was no use arguing with her mother, not with her current health anyway, and she had her younger brother to throw fits and cause a commotion big enough for both of them. At first she had thought her mother had gone crazy, taking care of her son and herself all alone, but of course, everything made sense when she called Leonardo back home. Now there was the source of all her uneasiness, she hadn’t seen her older brother in seven years, and so he was like a total stranger for her. She was taking all her frustration on her clothes while she unpacked and tried to find something to wear to that campfire meeting.
What she wanted the most was to see her child, and maybe have a chance to talk to someone and make some friend. Alessandra talked to everyone but due to her temper people never stick around too much, she wasn’t rude, but her straightforward personality was often mistaken for that. Sighing and bored out of her mind she decided it was about time to get out of the cabin and breathe some clear air, she throw the door open to find it was about time to get to the campfire, perfect timing. Girls and boys were walking around, talking to one another. Some of them were excited, others looked quite scared and there were people like her that could care less about this kind of events, that were pretty bored by them and that wanted to be somewhere else. She joined them and chatted here and there, with a fake smile on her face all the time, right now she wasn’t in the mood. She missed her son and was worried about her brother taking care of him. It could be a great chance to bring the family together so she was trying to give him the benefit of the doubt, he deserved a second chance because everyone made mistakes, though she wasn’t sure her brother saw going to New York as a mistake.
She had done a very big one in the eyes of the public, and kids could be very cruel when isolating people. If you got pregnant at her age there is a certain number of words that they will make sure to attach to your name for the rest of your high school life, and of course people will always look down on you for that. This was her chance to act a little more normal, and to have some friends. Alessandra thought maybe here she wouldn’t be judged as much as outside because everyone here was carrying their own package of problems and mistakes once done. Even so, she was sure her son wasn’t a mistake, sure she would have loved to wait for a more reasonable age and when she didn’t have to care for a sick mother and problematic brother but life has always another way of thinking and that’s how things came to her. She was hoping here she could find the comprehension she had been looking for, but she didn’t care that much, it was fine if she didn’t, after all she was still going to be around and the world didn’t end there.
Now that she was there she was going to make the most of it so she could come back home soon. She arrived at the location and saw chairs to sit and food and drinks at a table behind them. The fire was nice and crackling and made the atmosphere welcoming and warm, it lifted her mood quite a bit. She walked toward a chair and sat there, with no intentions of joining the chatting crow just yet and determined to be left in peace so she could think what she would do during her time there. In the crow there were familiar faces, she had been living in this town all her life, some kids here she had grow up with and she had seen the camp staff around in town countless of times, she felt like she was in a school trip and actually none of the faces was the one she wanted to see.
