The year is 2028. It’s been thirty years since Lord Voldemort was finally conquered and the world is at peace. At least, that’s what the government wants its citizens to think. No one is crusading to take over the world, destroy all, or purify the world of Muggles. In fact, it’s quite the opposite. Under the new Minister for Magic, Percy Weasley, a new law has been passed, calling for total integration of Muggles and Magicfolk. To many, this was a revolutionary course of action and would solve all the world’s problems. But to many more, this seemed to be a terrible, terrible thing.
It started with the announcement that statutes of secrecy would be lifted, a motion which was greeted with little complaint by most. But then, things got out of hand. New laws were proposed: marriage arrangements to mix Muggle and magic blood, banning magic-only education institutions, and restricting the use of magic around Muggles, regardless of the lack of secrecy this new law would create. The world broke into outrage, old pureblood families (or what remained of them) eschewing the idea of Muggle integration, and most others opposing the ideas of forced marriages and the ban of all-magic schools. But there is no even ground to walk here. Even the opposition is divided. And the world is about to break into war again.
Both the Order of the Phoenix and the Death Eaters have been long defunct since the War. There are more than two sides to this fight. The Ministry and those who support its bold motions, the Knights of Walpurgis and its supporters who totally oppose the idea of exposing magic to the Muggle world, and the Order of the Phoenix who champion the integration but not the bylaws that come with it.
Welcome to the Wizarding World. Here, peace is balancing on
